5. 10 Predictions for 2010

Every December I look forward to compiling a list of predictions for the coming calendar year. I have been doing this for almost 20 years now, and thanks to a combination of heavy research and a little bit of luck, I’ve had a pretty high accuracy rate. Souvent dans le monde de la communication graphique, nous recevons une demande d’icône pour un travail de représentation graphique.

C'est une question de culture

L’icône, dans l’œil de plusieurs, est souvent considéré comme la solution magique:« Une image vaut mille mot.. »

Il est tout à fait vrai qu’une image peut représenter et transmettre énormément de valeurs. Par contre, il faut prendre en considération l’aspect culturel de l’interprétation.

À chaque fois qu’une information, graphique ou non, est interprétée par un individu, ce dernier l’applique contre une base de références définie selon son expérience, environnement, culture et autre.

Le plus important pour quelqu’un qui offre des services comme les nôtres est d’identifier clairement cette référence chez la clientèle ciblée et de pouvoir établir les dénominateurs communs afin de pouvoir transmettre le message désiré par l’image.

Voici quelques autres conseils :

1. Les icones les plus faciles à reconnaître sont généralement ceux qui symbolisent directement l’objet de référence.
2. Assurez vous d’avoir une composition grammaticale recherchée pour la conception de l’icône. Et surtout de tester cette application contre la préconception de la population cible.
3. Les figures pleines sont supérieures aux figures creuses.
4. Les figures circulaires sont généralement moins fiables (versus carré ou rectangle).
5. Une réduction du niveau de détail donne également des meilleurs résultats.
6. Le plus important:assurez vous toujours que la personne en charge de la conception graphique a une démarche structurée pour créer une image qui correspond exactement au message que vous voulez transmettre.
